This is pretty cool race. Easy two turn swim, lots of buoys. Easy to sight on. However, if it rains, like it did in 2018, be prepared for a mud bath in transition. The bike course has just over 2,000 feet of gain, and lots of turns. Know your bike, know how to handle it. The run course itself encompasses Lake Monona which is a beautiful lake. But with that comes some wind on a great day. While you’re in Madison, if you’re a Chris Farley fan, you may not know that he’s buried there. A quick google search for his grave will allow you to go there, if you want. I know I’d make time for that if I was there #90skid.
Would I do this race? No. I don’t like grass transition races. But I’d go and support or even volunteer here.
