IRONMAN© Frankfurt

Frankfurt, Germany

I was lucky enough to interview two amazing human beings for this race.  Both had such great things to say about this venue.  Rachel McBride’s episode has been one that I have listened to multiple times and could be considered one of my all time favorites closely followed with Steph’s.  This is one course that features a beach start for pros, rolling start for age groupers, and sells out in no time.  While the swim course itself consists of an interesting somewhat complicated turn by turn, two segment course, athletes need to know what to do, how to sight and navigate this course. When anyone talks about a European race, this race is the race to do.  The finish line has a richer atmosphere than the World Championship. Have you seen it?!  Like WOW!  Americans that are doing this course need to know this course will be marked in Kilometers, not miles.  The bike course has some hills, and is a point to point lollipop course. This is a two transition race and the run is a FOUR loop run course.  So you can break this up quite easily and see folks you know a lot. Each loop is 10k featuring short punchy hills. The race director(s) for this venue knows how to put on a spectacular event. I can’t recommend this venue enough.  To Rachel and Steph, to amazingly humble professional athletes, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your experience at this race.  Both of you have been such amazing people to track, follow, and you both have a fan for life.

Would I do this race? Yes, no brainer.  Worth every bit of it.
